Many databases include citations for the sources you find there that you may copy. Look for a link or icon that says Cite.

If you use QuickSearch to search across library resources, click the Citation icon (") in the results screen for each resource you wish to cite. This tool provides citations in various formats.

Another way to keep track of citations is by exporting your citations into a citation manager. A citation manager lets you save and organize all your research in one place. RefWorks, EndNote, and Zotero have plugins for Word that will produce your citations and bibliography as you type your paper. Rutgers provides free access to all of these citation managers for students, faculty, and staff.

For additional information on using citations, view the Citation Helper research guide or email citationmgr@libraries.rutgers.edu.
