We'll always be here for you, but your access options do change shortly after graduation. Remote access is the biggest difference--you won't be able to sign in from your own devices anymore (the exact timing varies.)  You can obtain an alumni card through the Alumni Association's registration page.

Here's how you can access library resources once you leave Rutgers:

Databases and e-books

  • Visit us in person and use a guest terminal to access electronic resources
  • When you come in, go to the reference desk or the circulation desk to set up an account

*Location hours and access policies do vary; you can find more details on the Library Hours page. If you'd prefer to call ahead, click the library's name to find the phone numbers for the circulation and reference desks.

Physical collections

  • Borrow up to 25 books, CDs, and DVDs/laser discs at a time

Reference assistance

  • Research help is still available by chat or text. We'll do our best to help you find resources that fit your project and time/travel constraints.
